KCSN 88.5 FM is a member-supported, non-commercial, non-profit public radio station broadcasting live from the CSUN campus, aired throughout the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita, and LA’s Westside (Santa Monica through Silver Lake).
KCSN has a one of a kind format on the LA radio dial – Smart Rock. Music programming includes live, in-studio music sessions and interviews with well established and emerging artists. KCSN is a leader in the LA radio market with its ability to recognize and support emerging artists while honoring heritage musicians and is the only station in LA that presents such programming to a diverse and dedicated audience. Weekends are filled with outstanding radio programs hosted by a cast of radio veterans and celebrity personalities who share their musical expertise in various musical genres such as Folk/Roots, Rock, Blues, Bluegrass, EDM and more.
KCSN’s mission is to engage listeners in the discovery of music, meaningful cultural and social experiences, and provide access to events, information, and unique listener benefits; to provide mentorship to CSUN students seeking careers in broadcasting and entertainment; and to actively support and nurture emerging artists, both locally and nationally.
