the Group Rep at the Lonny Chapman Theatre PRESENTS The World Premiere Musical

LOVE AGAIN

Book by Doug Haverty
Music by Adryan Russ
Lyrics by Adryan Russ & Doug Haverty

Poignant, tender, funny, thoughtful, fantastic music, and thoroughly enjoyable is LOVE AGAIN, the newest offering at the Group Rep at the Lonny Chapman Theatre in North Hollywood.

With the accomplished duo of Doug Haverty and Adryan Russ you can only expect the best. And that’s what we get with LOVE AGAIN.

love again2

Three separate vignette’s, “In a Different Light”, “Two Lives”, and “Forget-Ne-Not”, brilliantly written by Doug Haverty, and with amazing music by Adryan Russ, highlight sacrifice, lost love and family, and the painful loss of memory. Now you may think these stories appear to be depressing, but to our rescue are Haverty and Russ, giving us musical numbers, and lighthearted moments that draw us in and allow us to enjoy each tender moment.

These three great stories, and with fantastic music and lyrics by both Haverty and Russ are “In a Different Light” which brings us to Paris, with two couples, one half of each couple that knew each other in College. “Two Lives” gives us two best friends who have been in an accident together, are now connected to life support, and considered to be brain dead. But how lucky we are that we are given the opportunity to find out what they are feeling and thinking, and see the joy and frustration felt by someone when they can’t actually communicate, and when we think they can’t hear us. It is truly touching. And then finally, “Forget-Me-Not” focuses on a couple faced with the possibility of taking care of grandparents who have severe memory loss.

The casts have brought their A-game acting and musical talent to each character. Some, of the actors play two characters, with the amazing Lloyd Pedersen (Maxwell, Gary, and Harold) playing characters in all three vignettes. Michelle Bernath (Fanny and Kathryn) is funny as all get out, Paul Cady (Craig and Stewart) fantastic, Kathleen Chen (LeWanda), Amy Gillette (Bonnie and Katie) with the wonderful voice, Renee Gorsey (Fiona) charmingly funny, Andrew Curtis Stark (Harry), Debi Tinsley (Loretta) fantastic and blew me away, Elijah Tomlinson (Derrick), and Janet Wood (Jane and Penny), each actor is FANTASTIC.

I know I’m raving about everything, but LOVE AGAIN deserves it. So let’s keep going. Kay Cole has done a bang up job directing this great cast. We can’t forget superb Musical Direction and Arrangements by Richard Berent. Lighting, Sound, Sets, Costumes…what more can be said.

I know you have heard the old adage: You laugh, you cry. Well in LOVE AGAIN, you actually do, and you get to sing along to great music.

Everything comes full circle back to the main thought. LOVE AGAIN. This is MUST SEE, and a great opportunity to see great theatre.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!
