Knights, kings and carnivores, beer and of course a feast.
We now think there is something for everyone in the NoHo Arts District. If you’re looking for a fun evening and a feast fit for knights, kings and carnivores ( and of course beer), you’ll want to be in North Hollywood on Tuesday, November 12. In addition to their traditional pan-Latin cuisines, Bow & Truss will serve fare in the style of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros in honor of Ommegang Brewing Night. The “whole foods” dinner will feature a meal of kingly proportions as well as a special pouring of Ommegang’s “Take the Black Stout,” a hearty brew inspired by HBO’S smash hit TV show Game of Thrones®.
“Take the Black Stout” is the newest beer in the Game of Thrones collaboration series. Inspired by the brotherhood of the Night’s Watch, “Take the Black Stout” was made to be deep, dark and complex like those who have sworn the oath to defend Westeros against threats from the north. The label depicts the Weirwood tree where Jon Snow recited the oath before joining the Night’s Watch. For more info on the beer check out: http://www.ommegang.com/got/take_the_black.php
“As a big Game of Thrones fan and an admirer of all things sword and sorcery, (especially a hefty, old-style stout), I am beyond excited for the Ommegang Brewing Night,” says Bow & Truss bar manager Bobby Sloan. “Let’s just say it’s going to be a bloody good time.”
Executive chef Stefhanie Meyers will be serving a menu—not for the timid or squeamish—to accompany the heady brew consisting of roasted whole suckling pig, a whole cobia fish, whole stuffed rabbits (which will be split open to display to reveal the roasted vegetables inside of belly), and whole roasted duck. Of course, it wouldn’t be a true medieval dining experience without the requisite vegetables surrounding the main courses: smoked artichokes, smoked baby red potatoes, charred onion, charred tomato, and twice fried carrots will accompanying the meats and fish.
“Thanksgiving is coming a couple weeks early to Bow & Truss,” jokes Sloan. “Let’s just say we’re celebrating the holiday in a decidedly feudal fashion.”
WHEN: Tuesday, November 12. Doors open at 7PM
TICKETS: tickets start at $50 per person. Admission includes supper and a pouring of “Take The Black Stout.” The first 20 guests to arrive receive a complimentary “Game of Thrones”-themed beer glass to keep. http://bowandtruss.com/
WHERE: 11122 Magnolia Blvd. North Hollywood, CA 91601.
The epic feast will be held on Bow and Truss’ relaxing patio space whilst the regular menu remains on offer inside.
