Even though the excitement about the warmer times being around the corner is great, the transition from the wintertime to the brighter springtime can often be quite bothersome.
Wardrobe ''hibernation'' is now over. As appealing as it is to keep throwing that big coat on and a pair of jeans, now is the time to bring out all those bright clothes you stuff away every year when the cold months come around. I also like to think of springtime as a cleansing period in the year where you can get rid of old clothes that don't spark joy in you anymore and refreshen the wardrobe with ones that do.
Here are some trends from Spring/Summer runways of this year to give you some inspiration for spring refreshment.
Polka Dots
Not that polka dots have ever been ''out'', but it is clear that many designers are more in love with them this season than ever before. Polka dots have a sense of classiness and elegance to them that oothes girliness and playfulness. My personal favorites are polka dot dresses.
Tie Dye
The tie-dye trend is quite a nostalgic one: it just screams last century doesn't it? You either hate it or love it. Even though I've never been the biggest fan on tie-dye, seeing it in a modern context on the runways definitely gave me some inspo and new appreciation for it.
Neons
It appears that this trend is here to stay. What we thought would be just another millenial trend that would disappear within a few months, the amount of neon used on the runways shows how many designers have found them to be ''worthy of keeping''.
Neons are quite bold, which means that if it seems a tad bit intimidating for you to wear a full neon outfit, try mixing and matching with neutrals: for example a simple pair of black pants with a neon top.
Earth Tones
Earthy tones are in! Yes, this sounds crazy as I just stated that neons were the talk of the town. This might be one of the most prominent trends from the runways this season and probably also the easiest to wear daily. After winter it's great to lighten up! Even I, as an avid fan of bright colors, might give this one a go.
Fishnet
As the last addition to this list, fishnet! Just a little cute something that could be seen in many shows for this season. Whether it is easy to wear in everyday context is a different question… Maybe a pair of fishnet tights under a cute dress to start with instead of a full body covered in fishnet?
