NoHo Artwalk is Expanding!

Remember the www.nohoartsdistrict.com unofficial motto is: “NoHo is only as great as its people.”

We appreciate our local community groups’ efforts to create, support and highlight the arts in our growing arts district. We’d like to introduce you to the folks at EMX who organize the monthly NoHo ArtWalk.

Tell us more about the expanded NoHo ArtWalk.

The NoHo ArtWalk+ is an expansion of the NoHo ArtWalk (2nd Saturdays) that is happening with help from a grant from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.

The NoHo ArtWalk+ expansion includes:
• 20 visual artists showcasing their work in the NoHo Plaza
• + a Dance Battle (break-dancers, pop-lockers, etc.) hosted by ActivateLA & TooDopeBreakers
• + a 2nd stage featuring DJs and a sound-stage produced by Noise Revolt
• + a showcase of student artists from the Art Institute of CA
• + a 3rd visual artist section featuring visual artists hosted by Space Brains (a collective that organizes art & DJ events in Pomona)
• + promotional help from NoHoArtsDistrict.com, Artillery magazine, KXLU & Mystic Pete, and KCRW

Why did you decide to expand the NoHo Artwalk?

The NoHo ArtWalk had such demand that we needed more room to showcase the artists that wanted to be a part of our monthly event on 2nd Saturdays. North Hollywood is home to so many visual & performing artists that we wanted to expand the NoHo ArtWalk to create more opportunities for exposure to help showcase the art that comes from this area and its partners and friends.

How can a local artist participate?

All artists in the surrounding area can participate by completing our Visual Artist Application and contacting us at: nohoartwalk.la@gmail.com

We welcome visual artists from Los Angeles. EMX is creating a circuit of events from Los Angeles County to Orange County to showcase local artists. Expanding the NoHo ArtWalk will provide the opportunity to find sponsors, partners, and donors that will help the event be self-sufficient. We plan to create an additional ArtWalk in Orange County by the end of the Summer so that artists can have two ArtWalks to showcase their work at each month. EMX aims to provide support and resources for the electronic music industry and the visual artists that we work with at our events.
