Midtown North Hollywood Neighborhood Council & Lankershim Elementary Celebrate Earth Day

This Earth Day, board members of the Midtown North Hollywood Neighborhood Council joined parents, students, and staff of Lankershim Elementary for a Beautification Event.

Under the direction of Principal Clarke, the eager volunteers armed themselves with donated brooms, rakes, shovels and gloves to spruce up the campus playground, planters, and landscape. Some students helped their parents remove weeds from the garden. While others assisted Principal Clarke with the sandbox.

The event was a success.

In just three hours, all beautification projects were completed, and the campus sparkled once again underneath the bright sun. To celebrate, everyone gathered in the common area for pizza and soft drinks, which were donated by the neighborhood council. Thanks to all volunteers who weathered the warm temperature. Lankershim Elementary School, you rock!
